These terms apply to this website and to any work Plumbing & Heating Heroes does for you. By booking a visit or using the site you agree to them. Questions go to info@plumbingandheatingheroes.ca or (647) 492-7575.
Who we are
Plumbing & Heating Heroes is a plumbing, drain, gas and heating contractor serving the Greater Toronto Area and Durham Region, Ontario. Plumbing work is done by licensed plumbers and gas work by technicians registered with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA).
Quotes and pricing
We tell you the price before any work starts, and you approve it. For a repair we quote on site once we have seen the problem. If we find more work is needed once we are in, we stop, explain it and give you a new price to approve. We do not bill more than ten percent above an approved estimate without your say-so, which is what Ontario's Consumer Protection Act requires. A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise. Diagnostic and call-out fees, where they apply, are told to you on the phone before we dispatch.
Emergency response times
The response windows on this site are estimates based on where our crews start from. Traffic, weather and the jobs already in progress affect them. We will give you an honest arrival time when you call and update you if it changes. Response times are not a guarantee.
Payment
Payment is due when the job is finished unless we agreed to something else in writing. We accept the payment methods listed on your invoice. Larger projects, such as renovations and restoration work, are billed in stages set out in the written agreement for that project. Overdue balances may carry interest at the rate shown on the invoice.
Cancellations and missed visits
You can cancel or move a booked visit at no charge with at least four hours' notice. If we arrive and nobody can let us in, or the visit is cancelled on the doorstep, a call-out fee may apply. For emergency dispatches the call-out fee is confirmed with you on the phone before the truck leaves.
Our guarantee
We stand behind our work. If a repair we did fails because of our workmanship within the guarantee period stated on your invoice, we come back and put it right at no charge. Parts we supply carry the manufacturer's warranty. The guarantee does not cover damage from misuse, from work done by someone else, from problems we told you about but you chose not to fix, or from parts and fixtures you supplied yourself.
Your home and access
We need clear, safe access to the work area and the shut-offs. Tell us about anything we should know before we start: pets, alarm codes, known hazards, prior work. We protect floors and clean up after ourselves. Where a repair means opening a wall, floor or ceiling, we tell you first, and the cost of finishing that surface is separate unless your quote includes it.
What we are responsible for
We carry liability insurance and are responsible for damage caused by our own negligence. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, hidden defects in pipes or equipment we did not install, damage that happens because a problem was left unrepaired, or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable. Where the law allows, our total liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for it. Nothing here limits rights you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act.
Gas safety
If you smell gas, leave the building, call your gas utility's emergency line, and then call us. Never try to locate or repair a gas leak yourself. We will not carry out gas work that does not meet code, and we may refuse or stop work we consider unsafe.
